Ready to decipher the magic behind the Universal Laws and create a path to a more harmonious existence?
If you’ve ever wondered about the mysteries of the universe and how they might influence your life, then you’re in the right place! In this post, we’ll explore the fundamental principles of Universal Laws, offering you insights on how they work. And, how to apply them in your everyday life. But first, let’s start with one basic question – What are Universal Laws?
Understanding the Universal Laws:
Brought into appreciation by Buddhism, but established and taught hundreds of years ago by Ancient civilizations. The concept of Universal Laws are often associated with metaphysics and refers to a set of guiding fundamental principles, or metaphysical laws, that are believed to shape the fabric of our reality.
In other words, govern the universe and everything in it.
While these laws may not be scientifically proven or universally accepted as scientific truths. Many people find these laws to be profound and empowering. Generally discussed in various New Age, philosophical, and spiritual contexts.
Furthermore, Universal Laws can vary depending on different belief systems. While the list of laws mentioned below are prevalent, some sources do indeed propose 12 or more principles. Similarly, the number and specifics can differ from one interpretation to another.
In some teachings, additional laws may be introduced to encompass various aspects of life and the universe. However, the content of these laws can also vary widely. Therefore, there is no universally agreed-upon list of Universal Laws.
Some of the most commonly mentioned Universal Laws include:
Law of Attraction: One of the most well-known Universal Laws. The law of attraction suggests that like attracts like. Thus, by maintaining a positive mindset and focusing on positive intentions, you will attract positive outcomes. Easier said than done, by harnessing the power of positive thinking, you are able to manifest your wildest desires. But remember, negative thoughts and intentions will attract negative outcomes.
“Every time you praise something, every time you appreciate something, every time you feel good about something. You are telling the Universe, more of this, please. More of this, please.” – Abraham Hicks
Law of Cause + Effect: Also known as the Law of Karma, this principle states that every action has a corresponding reaction. Likewise, the energy you put out into the world will eventually come back to you. Hence, being mindful of the consequences of your actions, and intentions, is key. Because again, they will return to you in some form.
Law of Vibration: This particular law asserts that everything in the Universe vibrates at a certain frequency and these vibrations can impact our experiences, even interactions within the world. Specifically speaking, your thoughts and emotions have their own vibrational frequency, and by aligning them with your positive intentions, you can bring about change.
LAOZI, a Chinese Philosopher and Founder of Taoism states – “Watch your thoughts, they become your words, watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits, watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.”
Law of Correspondence: As above, so below; as within, so without. This particular law reflects and proposes that there is a correspondence between the microcosm (the individual) and macrocosm (the Universe). Understanding this principle can help you to see that without first finding balance and peace within, it will be hard to find harmony outside of oneself.
Law of Polarity: In a world of duality, the Law of Polarity reminds us that opposites exist everywhere and are interconnected. For example, there is no light without darkness, no heat without cold. Embracing both sides of any situation can lead to greater understanding and personal spiritual growth.
To remember this principle, I like to think of the art term Chiaroscuro – the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition.
Law of Rhythm: This principle states that everything in the universe follows a natural rhythm or cycle. Moreover, accepting and understanding these cycles can help us to navigate life more effectively. Everything happens for a reason or in divine timing. This Universal Law is good for whenever you are trying to practice the art of surrender and flow.
Law of Gender: Similar to the law of polarity, there is feminine and masculine energy within everything. Therefore, this law asserts that these energies need to be balanced to achieve a sense of harmony. An imbalance, where there is too much of one or too little of the other can cause chaos.
Law of Divine Oneness: A simple one, yet big. Everything and everyone in the universe is interconnected, part of a greater whole. No better or worse, just all the same. What affects one part of the universe can affect the whole.
5 Ways to Apply Universal Laws into Your Life:
Now that we’ve touched upon these Universal Laws, it’s time to explore how you can apply them to enhance your life.
1. Practice mindfulness: Become aware of your thoughts and emotions. Intentionally direct your focus toward positive outcomes, harnessing the Law of Attraction to your advantage.
2. Cultivate GOOD karma: With the Law of Divine Oneness in mind, have compassion. Treat others with kindness and respect. And, in the spirit of the Law of Cause and Effect, you’ll find that goodwill will naturally return to you.
3. Raise your vibrations: Engage in activities, people, places or things that bring you joy to raise your vibrational frequency and in alignment with your true desires.
4. Find balance: Embrace the Law of Polarity by acknowledging the ups and downs that come with life. Although there is much chaos in the world, try to seek peace within via meditation and prayer.
5. Surrender: With faith, trust in the natural rhythms and power of the Universe.
Despite being metaphysical, the Universal Laws offer valuable insights into how we can lead more fulfilling lives. And, while these laws may not be scientifically proven. Their principles can serve as guiding lights to help us navigate the complexities of our world. Remember that understanding and applying these laws may take time and practice. So, be patient with yourself. Additionally, different sources and authors may describe these principles in slightly different ways, with varying interpretations. Whether you choose to embrace these laws depends on your personal beliefs and perspectives.
