Wondering how to start a spiritual journey?  A deeply personal and individual process, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. However, here are some things you can consider as you embark on your own awakening.

In the quiet moments of introspection and contemplation, we often find ourselves pondering life’s profound questions:

  1. Who are we?
  2. What is our purpose?
  3. How can we lead lives imbued with meaning and authenticity?

It is in these moments that the call of the spiritual journey arises—a quest for self-discovery, or SOUL Discovery, that can lead us to the very core of our being.

Embarking on a voyage into the uncharted territories of the SOUL. The question of how to start a spiritual journey is a sacred undertaking.  And, a quest for a profound exploration into the deeper dimensions of existence.

Self-Reflection: When initially asking – how do I start a spiritual journey?  Begin by taking some time to reflect on your current beliefs, values, and experiences. Like, in what ways have you been conditioned by culture and society?  Moreover, consider what aspects of your life are meaningful to you and what you’re seeking to explore or understand on a deeper level.  In essence, you are trying to reveal your WHY.  Why do you think it’s time and important to begin your spiritual journey?  And know that the answer to this question can have many layers.

As an example, one reason why I felt it was time to awaken to my spiritual journey had to do with mental health issues.

Set Intentions: By knowing and understanding your WHY, you can now clarify your intentions for the spiritual journey. What do you hope to achieve? To piggyback off the previous example, suffering from anxiety, PTSD, severe depression, and stress lead me to focus on the intention of inner peace.

Learn and Study: Engage in reading, research, and study of spiritual texts, philosophy, and teachings that intrigue you. This can help you gain insights and broaden your understanding of different spiritual paths.
